Mathmaticz of Cross

this weekend made me love cross even more....Why is it that cross racers are exponentially nicer than road racers? I mean you can talk to anyone and no one is really muggin you at all. I mean there are haters for sure but they are fewer and farther between. and everyone knows who they are....
The equation most likely goes something like this:

for every one cross racer who is a big jerk there are three road racers who are jerks

X x 3 = y
